Governors' Camp Safari News October 2014

In the Masai Mara the wildebeest migration has continued with huge numbers of wildebeest and zebra covering the plains around our camps and big river crossings. The Marsh Pride of lions continues to grow and the pride now numbers a staggering 43 individuals, the pride has seen some interesting times over the last month with new cubs, new battles and new males all in the mix.

In Rwanda guests have had the extraordinary privilege of seeing tiny new born gorillas in two of the gorilla families and there are some nice developments afoot in the lodge to ensure guests get the most from their experience with us. At Loldia house leopards and aardvarks have been making an appearance on our night game drives and there are lots of hippo calves around. On Mfangano island we have just taken delivery of a new 40ft traditional longboat for guest excursions round the lake and the rains have arrived greening up the gardens.

We have some wonderful special offers in place designed to help you make the most of a Kenya safari with us and some great offers for the upcoming October Half Term holiday and finally in the Masai Mara a team from Governors Camp went on the recent Global March for elephants to show solidarity for this important cause. Looking forward we highlight all the reasons why we love October in the Masai Mara and hope to welcome you on safari with us soon.
