Susie is happiest when chatting with clients to discover what will really make their trip the ‘perfect fit’ as she is a natural organiser and takes much joy from communicating with our clients and our local teams at hotels, lodges and camps throughout the world. She feels it is so important to match personalities to locations and this is where her detailed knowledge and passion of people and places comes in very handy!
On leaving university, Susie began her adventures in Meribel, France where she soon found herself emerged in the ‘seasonaire’ life and secured the position of a luxury Chalet host in Breckenridge, Colorado; flying off to the USA to complete the winter season there. Returning to Europe in the Spring, she then holidayed with family in Ireland, worked in the beautiful Tuscan countryside for the summer and after again catching up with the family in Spain, headed for Cairo where the next two years flew by in a haze of Arabic studies & her beloved books as she went about planning & stocking a brand new English language book shop in the ‘Las Vegas of the Middle east’. The next years were spent travelling down to Australia where she completed her TEFL teacher training and returning to the UK for a spot of Summer School teaching on the South Coast. In 2004 she took a position at Dial-A-Flight where she met Tarquin & they continued holidaying both together and independently with work to locations which included Thailand, India, New Zealand, Prague, Paris, Dubai and of course Tanzania. The rest, as they say is history (in this case Pure Zanzibar history and now the Pure Safari story).
Having worked and travelled abroad extensively throughout her 20’s, she is now a proud mother of two and looks forward to the new experience of holidaying with her children; showing them the beauty of the natural world and the cultures that live alongside & within it.
Susie believes every client is different and has their own ideals and expectations from their holiday. As such they should each have a professional assistant to advise, organise and research on their behalf every last detail to ensure peace of mind in travel and a heart full of happy memories from their trip, wherever it may be.
